The first chord in our progression is C Major, which is made up of the notes C, E and G.

Find the root note, C, on the third fret on the fifth string. Press the string on that fret with your ring finger.
Next, find the E note. It can be found on the second fret of the fourth string. Press it down with your middle finger.
Strum every string, excluding the sixth which can be muted by lightly placing your thumb on the string.
The full chord, with all three fingers pressed down at once, therefore, looks like this.

Notice that although the C Major chord contains the G note, we do not need to press anything down to get that note because the guitar's third string is tuned to G and rings out when we strum.
