Raree Show

Sound by Joe Houpert and Jean Chrastina

In the second act of the Pioneer story, we introduce the prelude to the Pioneer’s Predicament. In Raree Show, Pioneer first becomes the media bard Madame Blueberry. The Raree Show encompasses a push cart production of hand-drawn slides projected live with sound accompaniment. The performance consists of 116 hand-drawn digitally manipulated slides projected in sequence. The musicians accompany the images on piano and electronic instruments. The story began with an ending based on the narrative of Pioneer: Where's My Horse? The Pioneer is lost in the desert without her horse.
