The Raree installation presents layers of looking. The story begins where Raree Show ends: Pioneer has climbed into the box. Her horse has fallen. Pioneer peers out at Horse. Visitors are invited to peer into the box. When they do, an eye is captured and projected onto a large screen via The Device, a core-sampling of projection media. The non-peeping crowd can see the live eyeball and Phenokinetiscope imagery, but the peeper, whose head is pressed against the box, cannot.
