ThIs project is a satire of cryptocurrency and the culture around it. Personally I think crypto in general is really stupid, and even worse its bad for the environment. Despite its negatives there are still entire groups of people who worship crypto like it's a new evolution of currency, and worship any random rich guy who will shout out their favorite crypto. The story of this project is mostly based on how whenever big celebrities talk negatively about crypto its value plummets astronomically, and how most crypto companies try to act like they arent hurting the environment with their fake money. If I had more time I would've gone for nfts also, since they're arguably worse and worth even less than crypto itself, and I can see a lot more potential for creativity when poking fun at an “art” based crypto trend. I made the site using a lot of flexboxes and css styling, which was difficult at the start but got simpler as I kept working on it. I started by finding an html website template/generator so I could get a design layout that looked very modern and professional. There weren't any templates for crypto sites specifically, but I chose one that was about finance and economics. I was tempted to just lift the code from the template and put it into my project code, but figured that would be counted for less points since the code wouldn't be original in any way, and I also expected the site to use code I wouldn't recognize which would make customizing the assets harder. However the template site wouldn't let me access the code unless I paid for a membership, so I went with recreating it from scratch anyway, which was certainly hard but I think I learned a lot of neat coding tricks and got to observe the design elements used on a lot of modern websites. I made the art and gifs mainly using photoshop, and I also would have made more custom assets if I had the time.
