Fabricating Activism: Craft work, gender, and the internet.

There is a modern resurgance to the popularization of "craft culture". We can situate this nicely within the relationship between old and new techonology- how the digital and tactile continously merge. There is an inherant line drawn between digital cultural and the ancetral movement of sewing, weaving, and crafting. Craft culture - "fabriculture" - positions itself snuggly within new media study. Craft is trending and technology is archiac. Each intertwines itself within a pattern of community, a web of connection, intaggling themselves within one another, over and over.
