I really liked the idea I had for the Javascript experiment from earlier in the semester, so I thought that I would be able to expand upon the idea and make something that looked a little nicer and was more functional. I think I have managed to accomplish that, and I would hope that my new site is capable of actually teaching someone a new skill, or at least a song they didn't already know.

I chose to teach a whole song this time around, instead of just one chord. The song I chose was “Sink, Florida, Sink” by the band Against Me! The reason I picked this song really just comes down to me liking it and hoping to maybe introduce some people who may not have heard of the band or the song before to it. It’s a really catchy tune with a lot of meaning, and the band itself is possibly even more interesting, especially when considering the story of the lead singer, Laura Jane Grace.

I think that the site definitely looks better than the first time, and I worked hard to fix some of the issues the first one had. The sound clips were a big one that I fixe by re-recording everything so that the audio starts almost immediately after the use clicks on one of my image-containing divs.

I think the choice to include a little header at the top for navigation is also a good idea on my part because it lets the user know which chord they are on, and how are far they have to go until the end.

I had recorded audio with me play full bars of each chord for the final page, but I thought it would be more fun to go ahead and just the single strum of the chords. That way, users can let their ADHD run wild for a moment and click whatever and re-order the chords how they want. I think the idea to put the final product in at the end using an anchor tag was also a good idea. I wasn’t sure what kind of image I could put there, but I think it looks cleaner than it would have if I had done what I initially planned with the extra image.

I hope this site is functional and educational, or at the very least is fun to click through and hear all the sounds I have recorded.
