My Idea

My idea behind this one was to draw out a non-plot story that could be up to numerous interpretations. I drew all of the assets myself and wanted to really use animation to my advantage. I wanted to use my skill with art to create a very unique journey. Originally each time you moved on to a new page a different Kanji would be the navigation button. I decided against this because I felt that with the speach bubbles that the changing Kanji would be distracting. I left the Kanji for Journey as the sole way to navigate because not only are you going through the pages but the character herself is also going through a journey.
I used my most favorite parts of the course to create this journey. I loved using the gifs in my previous projects so I added gradient square as the link for this page as well as using gif animation for things like blinking and small movements. I also really liked using audio in my Java project so I added it in this time as well. I also wanted to expirement with the reader's view points by making it look like the character was trapped inside the screen separated by a glass. I also tried to do this by the character making the screen bigger at one point.
This class really helped my understanding of websites and I am impressed with what I was able to make this site. I feel pretty proud of how it came out although I wish there was a way I could have the audio continue onto all the pages since going up and clicking it each time is kind of a struggle. Over all I created this to give the reader a visual expirience that is up to their own interpretation. I especially wonder what interpretations others will have about what is written on the paper in the bottle. Thank you for being such a great teacher!
