Throughout this semester, we are conducting readings that give us a theoretical framework for how VR has been discussed by philosophers, artists and cultural theorists. All of these articles are available on Google Drive in our share folder.

For this assignment, you will write a 4-page paper (approx. 1000 words, Times New Roman, double-spaced).

Choose one of the following prompts for your paper:

  1. Critique/Review: Write a review of a virtual reality project or game that we have viewed in class or that you have found through your own research.
  2. Text Analysis/Compare and Contrast: Analyze two of the readings from our course. Compare and contrast the authors’ stances on the topic of VR.
  3. Persuasive Rhetoric: Write a thesis statement that reflects upon the future of VR. Where will VR technology be in 10 years? How will it be a part of our lives, or will it be something of the past? Convince your reader of your point of view about the future of VR.

Format: This is a formal writing assignment; it should use 12pt, Times New Roman font, with 1” margins. Your writing should consist of complete sentences—polished and free of grammatical and typographical errors. Begin in your first paragraph with a thesis statement or a claim that will guide your writing.

Citation: Use Chicago or MLA citation style. You must cite at least 3 sources (at least 2 of which should be readings from our class).

Submit: When you are finished, upload it to Drive and print a copy to bring to class.

Grading: You will be graded using the AACU Rubric, available here.
